Welcome to West Side Fellowship

The West Side Fellowship is a small church planted in the St Johns area of Worcester in March 2012 with an evening service started in Upper Welland in 2021.

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15v3-4

From the beginning our goal as a church was to be focused on the message of Christ crucified. Our forgiveness, salvation and access to the Father are only possible through the complete work of Christ on the cross. As such our goal is to bring glory to God in thankfullness for what he has done for us through Christ. The core focus of our teaching is on seeking the Lord, listening to what God has to say to us, so that we may walk in obedience to his ways.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6v33

Putting the Kingdom of God first is a key part of the focus of the church with the goal to have the same devotion to the Lord as we see in the early church. As such, church life centres around teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayer (Acts 2v42), that as a church we would grow in maturity and bring glory to the name of Jesus.

Our vision is to see each member finding their place in the body of Christ and allowing their ministry to be developed.

As well as a desire to see people come to a knowledge of Christ locally we also have a world vision with members actively involved in ministry in Poland as well as supporting the needs of Christians in other countries.

New Sunday Evening Service Upper Welland 6:30pm

The evening service in Upper Welland is a new service starting on October 24th 2021 with the goal of planting a new church in the Upper Welland area.

We have started by using the Methodist church for an evening service and will expand to mid week house meetings as soon as they are required.

5th November 2024

For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
2 Timothy 4v6-8

When the apostle Paul wrote these words he did not have long left in this world. Over the last few weeks, we as a church have been praying for similar situation, where a loved one only has a short time left to live.

At these times there are all sorts of things that go through our minds that we pray, not only for the one dying, but for the family who will suffer loss.

As always there are various prayer requests, but in this situation the prayer request has been to “End well”, to not forget the Lord as their mind fades. A desire to maintain a testimony to the end.

It is at times like this that the person we are praying for suddenly becomes a teacher, not by words, but by actions. Like the apostle Paul, having their minds fixed on what lays ahead and showing by example the way that we should serve the Lord to the end. Looking forward to those words:

"Well done my good and faithful servant."
