Welcome to West Side Fellowship

The West Side Fellowship is a small church planted in the St Johns area of Worcester in March 2012.

For what I received I passed on as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according tothe scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15v3-4

From the beginning our goal as a church was to be as christ focused as possible. Our forgiveness, salvation, access to the Father are only possible through the complete work of Christ on the cross. As such the our goal is to bring glory to God in thankfullness for what he has done for us through Christ. The core focus of our teaching is on seeking the Lord, listening to what God has to say to us that we may walk in obedience to his ways.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.
Matthew 6v33

Putting the Kingdom of God first is a key part of the focus of the church with the goal to have the same devotion to the Lord as we see in the early church. As such church life centres around teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayer (Acts 2v42), that as a church we would grow in maturity and bring glory to the name of Jesus.

Our vision is to see each member finding their place in the body of Christ and allowing their ministry to be developed.

As well as a desire to see people come to a knowledge of Christ locally we also have a world vision with members actively involved in ministry in Poland as well as supporting the needs of Christians in other countries.

4th August 2018

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10v25.

As a small church, the summer months are often difficult as people go away on holiday. Yet, we continued to meet as often as possible and on one particular weekend when most of us were away, those left still met with brothers and sisters at another local church. Despite the difficulties, it was still great to be able to welcome visitors at morning, evening and midweek services throughout the month.

As well as welcoming visitors, it was also an answer to prayer to have one of our regular members return to Severn Heights Nursing Home in Callow End and for her to be able to once again join us in praising God. When someone is ill for so long they are really missed and despite meeting on one of the hottest days of the year, we had a good gathering together.

July also saw us finally finish our study of the book of Jude. It is a very short book, only twenty five verses, but has been such a blessing as we looked through it week after week.
The final verse reads:

To the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
Jude 1v25

Over the month we considered what these words meant and the implications for our life. How should the glory, majesty, power and authority of God be demonstrated in our lives? It was often very challenging but as we thought about the meanings and how the Bible describes these aspects of God, it proved a challenge to all and only serves to spur us on to serve God in a greater way.
